8 Glorious Months

Every month that passes is still like a surprise. I don't know how to explain it... Our little button is probably the best part of my life (and I can definitely her daddy's too!).  We are SO excited about these next few months with the holidays.  They will be so much more special with Miss O here.  We have her Halloween costume- CAN'T WAIT  for her to trick or treat (aka- dress up & look darling). And then Christmas, New Years & Three Kings... I just can't wait!!!  I have done terrible with keeping up with this blog... I will try to do better.  I snap pictures like a maniac but I just don't update them on the blog.  Eight months has passed with this sweet girl in our lives.  Hard to believe but we've LOVED every minute of it.  We are already planning her first birthday party (and by we, I mean me!)  I just get really excited thinking about it. 8 Sweet, Sweet Months!! 

SOPHIE JR!!

We have a black cat named Sophie Jr.  We named her Sophie Jr because Original Sophie died after an unfortunate accident with some lilies.  When we got the new cat we couldn't decide on a real name but kept calling her Sophie- so we just named her Sophie Jr.  Well, Miss O is obsessed with Sophie Jr.  When the cat walks by, no matter what Miss O is doing, her attention is immediately drawn to Sophie Jr.   There was one incident where Miss O grabbed a handful of hair off Sophie Jr's back and the cat was pretty traumatized.  She doesn't care too much for children or babies.  So anyway... we were playing and I was calling Sophie to come over and play... the video shows how silly Miss O was about the cat.  She loves the cat. {please ignore the poor quality... the video was captured on my phone!} xo

Tummy time is fun time!

Miss O is not a huge fan of tummy time.  I am trying to make her feel good about it- actually trying to get in the habit of making negative things into positives.  I know this will prove beneficial when she gets older and has to do things like homework or write papers and we have to encourage her. :) But she is getting very good at lifting her head and her legs because you can tell she just wants to roll over on her back.  When she is on her back she tries SO hard to lift up her head and sit up on her own. I haven't been able to capture it on video but it is quite fun to watch.  She makes a face of determination (very similar to her poo poo face), clenches her arms at her side and lifts as hard as she can... which is not very far right now.  She is also doing it in her carseat... even though she is buckled in she tries hard to lift up. I have a feeling that when she starts crawling and walking she will take off... literally. She just seems like she is trying to get somewhere constantly.  I am so thankful & blessed that I have the chance to stay home with her, for now, and watch her change, grow & learn! I am definitely enjoying it while I can!
